Ugene’s Dance Learning Story  Term 3 The Sassy Charleston. So according to my facts James P. Johnson was the one that invented The Charleston and it was brought in to the world in the 1920’s. The Moves. So the moves are similar to the dance we call the shuffle because you have to keep moving your feet and in The Charleston and it is mostly about your leg movement. Is the Charleston jazz ? Did you know The Charleston is jazz. It was used to accompany The Charleston dance. Cecil Mack was the man that wrote the lyrics and James P. Johnson was the first man to introduced the stride piano method of playing. What do people wear for Charleston? When people dance to the Charleston they wear fancy dress (for the girls) and tux for the boys. Also the boys wear a top hat. Ugene's violin Learning Story

Ugene's Violin Learning Story In violin we have been learning to play beginner songs. My violin teacher has been teaching me how to play Viva la vida but the beginner part.   I’m good at reading the music notes because when our violin teacher say two fingers on the g string I can play it I need to work on being confident and not being afraid to perform in front of people. In the future I will like to be a famous violinist who plays for the Wellington Orchestra. When I become a famous violinist, I would like to thank Liz for teaching me and thank her for making me be the best I can be.

Ugene _ Athletics learning

We were  learning to improve our athletics skills so we could do our best on athletics day Last week on Thursday and Friday we had trials for inter-school athletics but sadly I did not make it. I was good at keeping on trying and never giving up even when I wanted to give up. Because when I did not give up I got better and got a bronze. I need to work on listening to the feedback because it will help me improve by telling me what I need to work on next to make it into athletics. I need to work on swinging my arms at a 90 degree angle because it will make me cut through the air and go fire and higher. I am going to achieve my next steps are not to give up and try harder because when I try harder I can accomplish my goal and get what I want.
