Ugene Maths Learning Story
Ugenes Maths Learning Story:
In maths, we have been learning how to cooperate together and share our ideas with our math group.
Maths Problem: Rico builds a string of beads using 3 colors, starting with white, black then red then repeating the pattern.
The answer we were trying to figure out in this problem is ‘what the last colored bead?’ First I went 103 divided by 3. We then went 3 x 30 = 90 because we were trying to figure out the groups of 103, from our prior knowledge we knew there were 13 beads left over.
We were trying to figure out how many groups of 3 are in 13. We then found out the answer to ‘how many groups of 3 are in 13 which was 4.
The given answer was 4 and this is how we all worked together to solve a problem.
I was good at:
- Sharing my own ideas
- Working passionately with my group
- Listening to other group members ideas and adding on
- Agreeing and Disagreeing with others.
I need to work on:
- Thinking about the problem carefully so I am informed as to what’s going on.
